PERU RETREAT
with the Willkasara Medicine Family

We're living through a deeply transformational time right now, which offers an opportunity to infuse vitality, greater clarity, and a deeper sense of purpose into our life.

Immerse yourself in the heart of the Andes through the power of plant medicine, ancient teachings, meditation, sacred sites, and traditional music with indigenous Inca medicine keepers. Dive deep into the ancient wisdom of healing with the sacred medicine of Wachuma and return to your true self to uncover the healer within.

Itinerary

  • Prior to our trip to Peru, we will gather online over Zoom to get to know each other better, set individual and collective intentions, and go over all of the details in preparation for ceremony.

It is often said that the ceremony begins once we say “YES” to the call. Start paying attention to the little synchronicities and opportunities for lessons that start arising from having committed to this trip.

  • Upon arrival in Cusco, you will head to your hotel in the Sacred Valley, at a lower altitude, to get some rest following your journey to Peru.

Though not quite as elevated as Cusco (which sits at over 11,000ft from sea level), staying ultra hydrated is crucial to avoid altitude sickness. That evening, we will get together for our first dinner as a group.

  • After breakfast, we will begin our journey through Sacred Valley, stopping in the towns of Moray and Maras. Along the way we will hold an opening ceremony with Wachan and his family, to set our intentions for this week-long ceremony together.

  • After a sunrise prayer to welcome the day, we will spend the day discovering Ollantaytambo, also known as the ‘Living Inca City’, which provides a very strong energetic vortex for manifestation.

In the late afternoon, we will board the train to the town of Aguas Clientes, which sits at the base of Machu Picchu.

  • After a light breakfast, we will head out to the magical waterfalls of Mandor. We will be led in Sacred Ceremony by our Plant Medicine Guides, Wachan, Martika, and Shiqwarkenty, and the Ancient music of the Andes, while we open our hearts for healing to take place in this garden of manifestation.

Later in the day, we will be part of the Ayni Pukara, a traditional ceremony of the Q’ero People:

Since Ancestral times the Andean people have maintained a unique way of nurturing the connection with harmony of nature and elements of the Earth, by performing a Despacho (or prayer bundle).

This ceremony is a unique way of connecting to the energy and spirits of nature. A Despacho is done to honour Mother Earth (Pachamama) and the nature spirits (Apus) which take many forms, such as Mountains, Oceans, Rivers, and Lakes. A Despacho is also done to express or manifest what we would like to attract into our lives or the lives of our family and community members. It’s a way to practice the Ayni (reciprocity of giving and receiving). When we give back to Mother Earth along with all our sacred elements, we create balance and harmony in our Nature and in our Lives.

In this ceremony, we will create a beautiful Prayer Bundle using different elements of the three kingdoms: Animal, Plants, and Minerals, before offering this Despacho to the sacred water or fire.

  • One of the seven wonders of the (modern) world awaits us today. During this special visit, our Spiritual guide Wachan will show us the most important temples and altars of Machu Picchu, as we continue to receive messages of the ancient ones, while working with a lighter serving of Grandfather Wachuma.

  • After our journey on the train back into Sacred Valley, we will head towards Pisac to discover this beautiful town, and explore its colourful market. Later in the day, we will return to Cusco, where we will be staying for the rest of our journey.

  • Inkilltambo is a revered ceremonial monument built in the 1400’s during the reign of Inca Viracocha. Inkiltambo or The Temple of the Moon features beautifully carved rocks, narrow passageways, platforms, stairways, canals and fountains designed for the religious worship of the ancestors and transcendent masters of the Inca pantheon.

Our Plant Medicine journey will begin with an opening ceremony and day hike through the ruins with many stops along the way to connect with pachamama, grandfather wachuma and ancient guardians of the magical monument

  • Following our 3 magical plant medicine ceremonies, we will hold a closing circle at Sacsayhuaman, the great walled complex which means "Decorated head of the Puma," a holy Inca site. This fortress/temple complex was the ruling palace of the Inca, where the living god directed his people. One of the most important religious centers of the Incas was considered the house of the Sun during Inca times. Sacsayhuaman is a perfect place for meditation and connecting our spirit with Mother Earth, closing a cycle of integration.

In the afternoon & evening, we will enjoy our free time to rest, and explore the many markets of Cusco.

  • A final push, to take in all of the magic Peru has to offer. We will rise early and board the bus to Rainbow Mountain, a majestic mountain with a peak elevation of 16,466 ft. A horse will be available to take you up to (almost) the top, where we will hold a special prayer together.

Upon our return to Cusco, we will gather one final time as a group for our closing dinner.

  • Today is about letting the universe guide us on our return journey, accepting any challenges that may arise, and feeling gratitude for the magical experience we will have shared together!

  • Following the retreat, we will gather online over Zoom for 2 integration calls. Integration is a crucial part of the ceremonial experience (with or without plant medicine), as it makes space for us to apply what we have learned into our day-to-day life.

MEET YOUR GUIDEs

DAVINA + DANIEL

We have been working as a team since the day we met 16 years ago. Together we have built businesses, an international career as wedding storytellers, and a family and life that we are grateful for every day. We left our life in Canada in 2021, answering a call to set off on a new adventure in Samara, Costa Rica with our two magical children, Max and Charlie. Today we enjoy a life rich with community and communion with nature and continue to work as a team to create and guide transformative breathwork ceremonies and host retreats at our home and abroad.

Plant medicine has been an important ally for both of us throughout our individual journeys of healing and self-discovery and we are honoured to assist in bringing these experiences into the lives of those who feel called. It is a privilege to act as a bridge for those who may benefit from the deeply healing medicine of our dear friends, the Willkasara medicine family.

WACHAN, MARTIKA, SHIQWAR K’ENTY

Wachan, a 3rd generation Inca Medicine Man, has dedicated his life's mission to helping individuals and families unlock the wisdom we hold within. Working alongside his partner Martika, and their daughter Shiqwar K’enty, they have been carrying their traditions and sacred ceremonies across the world to share with those who's hearts are open for transformation. This Medicine family from the Andes of Peru and Colombia primarily work with sound therapy and Plant Medicine to help us achieve the spiritual breakthroughs many of us are searching for in this lifetime, to reconnect with ourselves and Mother Nature, heal our bodies, minds, and spirits as well as heal the past.

Our family is blessed with Wachan, Martika, and Shiqwar K’enty’s friendship. We have sat in several ceremonies together both in their homeland of Peru, and at our home in Costa Rica where our children have joined us in celebrating life, Pachamama, and ourselves. We are so grateful for the family’s wisdom and humbly receive their teachings and their medicine. This retreat is a beautiful co-creation between our two families.
