Saturday was our turn in the spotlight (again!) as we celebrated our engagement with our closest friends and family. I know some of you may be confused, what with our wedding in Vegas already having taken place. We understand, we’re doing things a little differently than the norm! We are engaged as we are still getting married in Mexico in 2 years, but we were already legally married in Vegas (although we have yet to send in our paperwork to the Quebec offices).

Anyway! So we held our party at Cafe Veritas, a place we love and have already mentioned a few times on the blog. They were so amazing to work with and the food was unbelievable! We had so many happy tummies after supper! Elyna arranged for us to have a fabulous looking/tasting cake from Jessica Berard and gorgeous flower arrangements from Alain Simon which guests took home at the end of the night. Our drinks (courtesy of Daniel’s dad) were printed onto a menu we created (see below) and consisted of cocktails which played a roll in our relationship! We set up the photobooth (of course!) but to make things a little different, we bought some fake mustaches which guests had a blast with! My favorites are the photos of my parents sporting them and my Babi (grandmother in Czech) with a ’stache!

The highlight of the night for both of us, however, was when Daniel’s mother showed up. She lives in Israel and as a result we don’t get to see her very often… so I surprised Daniel by flying her in for the party. His shock when she showed up was priceless and it was great to have her there for the night!
